2016 Meadows Place Food Festival

Meadows place is a nice little town located just around the corner from DanceSport Club. They organize a lot of community activities, including Food Festival. This is what their website says about this event:

" Tickets on Sale!  They cover free food tastings from some fantastic local restaurants and food trucks between … 5pm – 7pm.  Free Kids Activities, dance performances by DanceSport Club and a chip to vote for your favorite band during the Battle of the Bands!  We will also have 4 Pokemon Lures running at all times during the festival!  Food vendors include Tradicao Brazilian Steak House, Skye Café, Cobob Korean Style BBQ, Pocket To Me, Pho-Jita Fusion, Casian King Cajun+Asian Fusion and Ban Ban's Cuisine Italian+Mexican Fusion. " (from cityofmeadowsplace.org)

Organizers of Meadows Place Food Festival invited DanceSport Club to perform at their event. We asked some of our dance students and it appeared that there was alot of interest in this performance. So we decided to go full steam ahead with preparations.

On the day of performance we installed temporary dance floor on the parking lot. This way our dance students did not have to dance on a hot concrete. Sounds like fun. However, it was still August in Texas and the weather was very hot. We applaud all performers for making it though in that heat.

Children ChaCha Formation

Most of our kids Kids from Beginner Ballroom/Latin class for 6-10 years old have been dancing obly for a couple of months. They already knew basic dance steps of ChaCha, so we decided to choreograph ChaCha performance. Kids practiced a lot and were ready for performance. Result was great! Everyone was very impressed with their dancing. Way to go kids. Keep working on it.

Children Waltz Performance

Ryan and Karina have been dancing a little longer and even considered going to dance competition. They knew some basic steps of Waltz and were very eager to show off what they know to public! They danced simple, but beautiful waltz.

Newcomer Salsa Performance

Bob and Ching were beginner dancers, but very ambitious, they really liked to show off. They were in our Newcomer Salsa class when DanceSport Club was invited to perform at Meadows Place Food Festival. We suggested that they do a little routine and they agreed. So we created a basic choreography that they were able to pick up in no time. Here is the result! Enjoy!

Beginner Merengue Performance

Our more sesoned students Alex and Diana danced their favorite Merengue. They practiced it quite a bit and it came out good. To make perofrmance more exciting Alex came up with Pokemon Go intro which was fun. Great performance.

Newcomer Rumba Performance

Our new student Luisa danced slow and romantic Rumba with her teacher Denis. Louisa is a very dedicated dancer and spent a lot of time practicing her routine. Good job Luisa!
